Education, Seminars, Self-Help Groups and New Drop-In Center in Jinja Town

Dear friends of Ring Of Hope Uganda (RIHU), we would love to share some information about our work in the previous months with you. Many people struggle in our communities because of their very challenging life conditions. People are not provided with a “social net”, labor protection and security standards like we know them in the European Counties. Not even children get any kind of “social security”. Committed individuals and organizations try to help and provide shelter, ed

    Street children forming family teams

Here are some good news from Uganda and a great example of humanity we’d like to share with you guys! Jackson wrote me that the street children of Jinja Town start forming their own families outside the streets. They are in groups of five children and rent rooms together. There are two groups so far and Jackson encourages them to keep going in this direction, so they can also be an example for others to follow. They elect one child to be the leader of the common home and the

    Impressions from Makenke Brewery

As I'm going through my pictures these days I'd like to share some impressions from Makenke Brewery. It was a very touching evening for me being with the "inhabitants" of this place. A place with a lot of of dirt, the air smells because of the brewing process and the wastewater is all around. People there are working in high danger of exploding barrels, which are filled with extremely hot liquids. This can lead to serious injuries and even death - of parents or their children
